At 8:00 p.m. the fry shop stops being only a shop. Anomalies can start appearing. They do not always arrive on the exact second. One recorded street stayed empty past midnight, with ghost-like sounds, before figures showed up at the shop. Quiet is not a reason to stay outside.
The short routine is: be inside before 8:00 p.m., stay in while figures are active, and close the shutter the instant a dark figure appears. Hold until 8:00 a.m. If you have cash during the day, the shop sells a clock that skips the night.
What changes at nightfall
- The window opens at 8:00 p.m. That is when anomalies can start, not a promise that one is already at the door.
- Outside starts a warning. A dark filter gradually covers your screen. Stay out too long and an anomaly eventually comes after you. No source gives a safe number of seconds after 8:00 p.m.
- The shop gets a visitor. A creepy dark figure can arrive. Players call these visitors ghosts. The game does not publish an official creature name, and it is not confirmed whether every night visitor is the same entity.
You can keep frying and selling from inside. Recorded sessions do that straight through the night. Daytime selling is the calm block: documented play does not put anomalies in the morning hours.
The night, step by step
- Finish potato runs and other outdoor errands before 8:00 p.m.
- If you are still outside and the screen starts darkening, go back in. Do not treat the filter as the attack. It is the warning.
- Stay inside while figures are around. Do not chase them. In one session the player who went out got chased back in and could not roam freely. Getting jostled at night ended one run before morning.
- Close the shutter the moment the dark figure appears. Do not finish the current sale first. Ghosts that reach the counter eat your fries. On day 5 of one run they were eating fries off the sale counter, and a late shutter sometimes missed.
- Optional, and only if you bought it during the day: use the shop clock to skip nighttime and jump to morning. No recorded run shows the clock being bought or triggered after a night has already started. Skipping the night also brings the next free upgrade sooner.
| Signal | Meaning | Move |
|---|---|---|
| Clock passes 8:00 p.m. | Anomalies can start | Be inside |
| Screen darkens outside | You have lingered | Go in now |
| Lights out, figures around the shop | Night phase is active | Work indoors |
| Dark figure at the shop | Direct threat to the counter | Close the shutter |
| Clock hits 8:00 a.m. | Shop reopens, figures are gone in morning footage | Take the free upgrade, then cross the road carefully |
Mistakes that show up in the recordings
- Trusting an empty street. One night stayed quiet past midnight and then figures arrived.
- Reading the dark filter as the danger itself. The danger is the anomaly that follows players who linger.
- Waiting to see what the figure does before using the shutter.
- Going out to fight. Surviving runs go inside. Nothing documented shows a clean result for getting caught, beyond death after being jostled and lost fries when ghosts reach the counter.
Later nights in the recorded multi-day session were busier than earlier ones. That is one run's pattern, not a published spawn rule. Some nights in that same kind of play produced no ghosts at all.
Power cuts, an unrecognized visitor the player could not operate, and a fast-running cow-like mention are extra night oddities from footage. None of them is labeled an anomaly by a reliable description. The cow line may be a bad transcription. For all of them, staying inside until morning is the documented default. Individual sightings are sorted in anomalies.
The clock, helper robots, and a second player are the three documented ways to make nights easier. Robots keep the shop earning while you are stuck inside. A friend helps because the shop and the key search compete for the same pair of hands. Cars remain a daytime-sized danger and do not stop at night.
